Award Winning Ribs

Award Winning, originally uploaded by edrahe.

These ribs went to their reward, that's for sure, but they didn't actually win and award, though I'm sure they would have had their been a barbeque rib contest in my neighborhood today.

I made these while tending to the lawn most of the day. I even surprised myself at how good they were. Low and slow smoked with pecan wood. You can't beat it.

Adolphus Busch Mausoleum

010, originally uploaded by edrahe.

FINALLY!! The semester is over for all intents and purposes so I made time today to take recreational photos at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis. Bellefontaine and Calvary Cemetery were established in the mid 1800s and the tombstones and mauselums read like a who's who of local, state and national politics, business and literary figures. I could've spent hours at Bellefontaine and hopefully sometime I'll get a chance to do that.

This is a shot of the back side of the Adolphus Busch and Lilly Anheuser Busch Maosoleum. It is the most impressive and ornate structure in the cemetery. I will be posting for comparison a photo of the Anheuser Mausoleum located a few yards away. The Anheusers were a bit more modest, as if any mausoleum in these two historic cemeteries is modest by today's standards.
